Video from Sacramento Enduro
Motion sickness is all I can say , I really wished for this to be over after 3 laps. I won my class with a pitiful time, only because I was the only entrant. Still it was nice to get a Bill Fleig memorial trophy, I remember him being superfast from Sac autoxes in the 90's.
Anyway, this is what 5 laps looks like.
Here's an gtech screenshot from a 2 lap run the previous day:
This shows two runs overlayed on top of one another, allowing analysis of driving.
AX-Analyst supreimposes the GTech data onto race video, which is really cool. Unfortunately it doesn't run properly on my 64 bit Vista Ultimate system....

Body roll in stock Miata R
This is how the car rolled with a stock Miata R front sway bar (prior to 11/7/08). Hopefully it looks better now that I have the RB installed.
Sunday was the last UFO event of the year. There were a lot of people. I planned to run group 2 or 3 so as to ensure a clean, rubbered in course. At the last moment I slipped back into group 1 to get home at a sane time. Something wrong with the sway bar, the car is pulling hard to the right. Never really figured out the course and ended up with a 68 second best run - although my fastest three times looked like about the fastest of the run group, the second and subsequent groups were much faster. Really need a 64-65 second time.
Back at home I worked on tweaking the suspension until it was dark. There's still a bit of a pull to the right, but not bad.Saturday, November 8, 2008
Installed the Racing Beat 1 1/8 away bar today. Spent a lot of time trying to get the adjustable endlinks right.
After changing the oil,I took the car for a test run up highway 9. When I got back I smelled burning oil. DISASTER. Opened the hood and oil was sprayed everywhere! I'd forgot the valve cover cap. Oh well...

Got an alignment today from Jack Chew in Hayward. Turns out the car was set to 0.8 degrees of positive camber front righjt and -0.8 front left. Eek.
The new alignment is -1.5 in front, 1/8 total toe out. -2.2 and zero toe in back.
One of the good things abput Jack is that it's fine to sit in the car during the alignment. This makes a significant difference to the setup.
